This is a short interview of our first bride this year; BALKIS & MONSUR 2018.
Me;Can we meet you ma?
Bride; Am Mrs Adejumoke Balkis Lawal.
Me;What do you do ma?
Bride; Am a certified Fashion Designer.
Me;Good! Can you tell us your company name or brand name ma?
Bride; Sure! why not... My Company is 611 Clothes Collection, Located in Ibadan, Oyo state.
Me: Wow that's sound cool ma. we'll discuss more about your work next time ma, but now let know how the journey of becoming Mrs.Lawal started...
Bride;Hmmm...
The first time I saw him was in November 2009, it was my grandpa's burial and he came with my cousin. I was still seeking admission...fast forward....... admission list came out in December and my name was there😎💃.
We resumed in January 2010 and In March 2010, my cousin got married and then he came again with his friend (my cousin ) and that was the first time he approached me but as a fresher i didn't want to have anything to do with guys so I wasn't interested in anything he had to say. He started stalking me ( he would even come to receive lectures with freshers)..
I just didn't want to have anything to do with him, I began to run away from him when I realised he was in 500level ( I didn't want him to use me for project and run away afterwards😅😂). First semester ended and we started second semester, he still kept disturbing and a friend of his (Quazeem) whom I had known as my cousin's friend even before I gained admission then came to me and talked to me on his behalf,
he made me realise that he ( Abbey) wasn't a bad person and that he had no bad intentions, he made me realise that I could do anything to him if all he said turns out to be false (that was the turning point😊).
I started giving him face small small you know 😆..... he went for service and we kept in touch (in fact , the bond grew stronger then). We would talk about everything and anything.... we continued like that until 2014 while I was serving when he told me that he would love to marry me if I allowed him ( he actually bought a ring 😮, I wasn't ready but he told me to put it on my finger when I was ready)...... I put the thing on my finger and was doing shakara ( it was pure gold you know😍😍)..
...... In 2016 he said he had to see my father and explain to him that he is getting old (lol). 2017 introduction came in and finally in 2018 I became MRS. LAWAL ADEJUMOKE BALKIS💃💃.
P.S: I forgot to tell you that your beloved UI graduate became a certified fashion designer in Lagos in the year 2016 and yes I made all of my dresses and my hubby's..... from the WEDDING GOWN to the ASOOKE to the RECEPTION DRESS to the FLOWER GIRLS' dresses to the SUIT...... so incase you need any or all of the above stated and many more please do contact us @611_collections call/WhatsApp 08069602641.
